UPDATE... Photographers Rights and UK Law

An excellent video which is an amalgam of previously available information...

MP stopped by police on suspicion of being a terrorist - for taking photos of a cycle path

A Tory MP was stopped and searched by police on suspicion of being a terrorist after taking photos of a cycle path, he revealed yesterday.
Prime suspect for PC Plod
Andrew Pelling was taking the pictures to highlight a 'long-neglected bicycle and pedestrian route' in his Central Croydon constituency to Parliamentary colleagues.
So... fuck the cyclists and pedestrians.
But as the cycle path was near the town's main train station, two police officers stopped him on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack.
Fuck off... that sounds as convincing as being arrested for possession of an Irish accent.
Even when Mr Pelling, 48, showed the officers his House of Commons pass and explained what he was doing, they insisted on searching his bag.
Naturally...
After finding nothing of interest they sent the MP on his way. A police spokesman confirmed the December 30 incident, saying: 'The officer conducted a stop-and-search - taking into account the current terror threat - as he (Mr Pelling) was taking pictures in the vicinity of a major transport hub.'
How on earth did we survive 2 world wars and the IRA without these protective measures?
It is not the MP's first brush with the law - he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his second wife Lucy in 2007 but no charges were brought.
Lucky... there wasn't a photo of it.
Mr Pelling has, however, taken a positive approach to the police's decision to search him over the cycle path pictures.
Bit of a twat.
He told the Croydon Guardian last night: 'It is pleasing to see just how vigilant our police are at these times of heightened international political tension and the risk of terrorism here at home.
Confirmed twat.
'I am glad my stop-and-search account as a white, middle-aged male shows that anyone can be suspected of, and questioned about, terrorism, regardless of race, creed or colour.'
Prize twat.
A police source said: 'An MP is still a member of the public and if we feel someone is acting suspiciously then we will stop and search them. Nobody is immune, whether they show a pass to the House of Commons or not.'
Obviously... Personally, I'm starting to wonder if accepting life under the Taliban might be a step in the right direction... towards person liberty and just plain simple fucking enjoying myself.
The incident follows the arrest of Tory immigration spokesman Damian Green at his Kent home late last year by Metropolitan Police investigating leaks of confidential material the MP received from a civil servant at the Home Office.
Another proud moment in this nation's history.

How soon before Al-Q'aeda start dressing up as nuns?
Take a look at this video about 2:36 in:

Seriously, it appears that the plod are now stopping law-abiding people on spurious pretexts simply to show that they can as a means of neutralising any resistance to authority. When once the "Enemy Within" were pro-Soviet agitators, our common purpose indoctrinated police now believe the "Enemy Within" is anyone who may be capable of independent thought. By means of "managed terrorism" the population is being forced to conform to the demands of the politico-business elite.
